Rare c1800 Naturalist's Botanical Magnifier Fleaglass Folding Pocket Microscope
Stunning and very rare Late 18th century brass pocket folding magnifying field instrument. Used by naturalists and botanists. The lens arm and handle are hinged to the slotted bar so that the instrument can fold up and fit into its original 2 piece hardboard etui. It has a pair of clean and working lenses that are screw mounted into the top brass ring, and fixed to a hinged arm. The complete original specimen/spike holder, is attached/removed from the main bar, where it can slide along, or fixed by a small threaded brass turn screw. The instrument is in excellent working condition, for its age, in remarkably good condition, with minor scuffs of age and wear. Any questions please feel free to ask.
