Circa 1850, a large brass drum microscope in case requiring attention; the rack slips when turning the thumb wheel to focus. This is on the bottom half of the rack, the top half works fine although there is a tooth missing to the top of the rack. I can see the bottom 8 teeth are quite worn at the bottom of the rack. The microscope still comes to focus using push / pull to the top draw tube. It is very clean and retaining its original lacquer, measuring 10 high racked down.
The base diameter is 2.75 diameter. 6 objective lenses 1 - 6. 6 bone slides (some vacant specimen holes). Glass parts within the drawer. The sub stage mirror is very good. There is no bracket for the stage magnifyer. The case measures 27.5 x 14.5 x 9.5 cms.
