Extremely rare, large, heavy & impressive industrial yarn strength tester or tensile testing machine used to test thread resistance & thread elasticity (double scale). This machine uses gravity to test threads (no springs) and can be used actually.

However it is a really beautiful, exceptional and collectable item with a powerful steampunk look. This measuring instrument belonged to a textile company (Compañia textil Sudamericana de hilados) that imported it from England during 1920 s´. This impressive apparatus has a hydraulic pump with piston (full of oil) that works as a deceleration device to make accurate measuring.

It has a lever to adjust deceleration and a tripod with calibration screws. Scale: 5 to 3000 grams. It has been calibrated and cleaned to make it functional (not restored in any way to preserve its original antique condition). Weight: more or less 50 lbs. All defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as described.
