The serial number accurately dates it to around 1930. It is further marked on the top part of the microscope. The eyepiece lenses are marked'4 x10' and'x8'.There are three objective lenses; The first is brass and marked 1/6 N. W F Prior & Co. The second is marked 1/12 Oil Immersion.
Hawksley & Son 557 and comes with a matching metal lens holder case. The final lens is marked Versalic.
And comes in a plastic Watson lens holder. The microscope is in good working order and I have set it up and tested it with a few old slides. It is in good condition for its age.
It has been used and will have normal signs of wear so please don't expect it to be brand new. It has been cleaned and the brass lightly polished and it displays very nicely. Microscope measures approximately 14 tall.
Comes in its original fitted box with sliding sections to hold the lenses and an additional wooden box for storing accessories or slides. The box measure approximately 17 1/2" high x 10" square. The box is in good condition with its original working key and it is marked'Watson' on the front. There are some knocks and scratches and signs of age but nothing detrimental.
