Crookes Cathode Ray vacuum Railway tube, X-Ray, Physics Demonstration. When the high voltage is applied, the paddle wheel travels down the glass "railway tracks" towards the anode. This demonstrates that the cathode rays, which strike the uppermost paddles as they travel towards the anode, possess momentum. Each paddle has fluorescent strips attached to it that will fluoresce when struck by electrons. A suitable Induction coil or HT power supply will be required to operate these tubes. Please see my other listing for induction coils. WARNING: Running these tubes with voltages in access of 20kV, can produce harmful X-rays. Recommended for the experienced experimenter only.
