A fine Victorian lacquered brass compound microscope by the respected maker, Edmund Wheeler of 48 Tollington Road, Holloway, London. Wheeler was perhaps best known for making microscope slides, but he also ran a successful business making superb microscopes. This particular example, Wheeler's "New Educational" model, was in production in the 1860s and is illustrated in the company's catalogue of 1869 (last image, not included). It is engraved to the stand "E Wheeler, London" and is fitted with coarse and fine focusing. It is supplied with a single eyepiece and objective, and comes complete with original fitted case.

Much attention is paid to packaging with a view to ensuring that items reach buyers quickly and without damage. Most of the items I sell are antique, of high value and impossible to replace. Most items are wrapped in multiple layers of bubblewrap, before being placed in strong double-wall cardboard boxes with the void filled with a 100% recycled polystyrene loosefill. I have tried alternatives to bubblewrap but none come close in terms of the level of protection they provide.

They are not the cheapest, but do offer a professional, fast (normally next-day) service and have proper shelving in their vans, which many of their competitors do not. Please help me to minimise waste by reusing the packaging wherever possible, or finding someone that can.
