A polished brass antique compound microscope by R & J Beck of London. Engraved to the foot with the makers name and serial number, which dates this particular instrument to around 1890. Complete with four objectives (various makers) and two eyepieces, contained within original mahogany case with working lock and key. I have a number of other fine microscopes for sale, please see my other listings.I pay a great deal of attention to packaging with a view to ensuring that items reach buyers quickly and without damage. Most of the items I sell are antique, of high value and impossible to replace. Items are generally wrapped in multiple layers of bubblewrap and placed in strong double-wall cardboard boxes with the void filled with a 100% recycled polystyrene loosefill. I have tried alternatives to bubblewrap but none come close in terms of the level of protection they provide. They are not the cheapest, but do offer a professional, fast (normally next-day) service and have proper shelving in their vans, which many of their competitors are unable to provide. If at all possible, please re-use the packaging, or find someone that can. The item "Antique compound brass microscope, R & J Beck of London, 1890s, cased" is in sale since Monday, October 21, 2019.
