Antique & Authentic Drum Barometer by Charles W Dixey - Bond St, London. An excellent quality brass-cased aneroid barometer by Charles Wastell Dixey of New Bond street Numbered. Silvered dial and crescent shaped mercury thermometer with a Fahrenheit scale. I would suggest that date is around 1850. 5 inch diameter barometer with engraved back plate register and curved mercury Farenheit thermometer to the lower section. Engraved to the face C. Charles Wastell Dixey - The most eminent of the Dixey dynasty of optician-instrument-makers, who worked primarily from headquarters at 3 New Bond St.

They held numerous royal warrants, including that of Queen Victoria. In original condition and appears in working order, but not tested.
